Who We Are
Grunt76 is the guy who started late into
bodybuilding, got into it for the science of
it, and never was very obsessed about
becoming super huge, up until recently
that is.
Grunt76 is the guy who remained natural
over 15 years of training, diets, and
supplement programs. To say that he
left no stone unturned in search of ALL
of the potential growth that the natural
athlete may hope to attain, is right.
This is why, no matter if you are a natural
or not, Grunt76 can help you: he knows
what it is to struggle with the smaller
gains of the natural athlete, and he also
has a profound understanding - and
experience - of the chemical
enhancements available to today's
athletes.
Grunt76 has studied all aspects of
endocrinology, BOTH for the female and
male athlete. He has devised ways for
females to attain freaky size and
shreddedness while retaining perfectly
feminine facial features. Virilization
should be a thing of the past.
Grunt76 is the ideal consultant for
anyone looking to improve their
physique.
A little bit about me
A childhood injury first introduced me to the settings of a gym, or more precisely, that of a rehab clinic, which does
resemble a gym somewhat. I did leg extensions, and didn’t particularly care for them, not after spending 5 months in a
cast from hip to toe...
Many years later at age 22, weighing all of 140lbs on my 5’9” frame, a university friend of mine joined a gym and asked
if I would workout with him. Sure why not. That is how I got hooked into it. I mean, I had always been impressed by “The
Hulk” TV series as a kid, and the Conan movies later on, but those were not enough to get me into lifting. Being there
and doing it, now that is another story. After a couple months I was really hooked.
So being the nerd that I am, I started reading, Muscle & Fitness, and what not, trying to scrounge up as much
knowledge as I could. Then shortly after that, I came to the Internet in .... I think it was 1991. There were no boards. The
“www” was largely unused and extremely primitive. But there were “discussion groups” on USENET, which was mostly
run and populated by universities. Not many people had internet access at home back then, it was considered a
research tool.
Ah, the joy of finally digging deep into this science! University professors, Dan Duchaine himself, and other big names
of today, were all on there discussing their theories and applied work. I was in heaven. Digging into the endocrinology I
stumbled upon “IGF-1” which seemed all-important to muscle growth at the time, so I got into studying that really hard,
around 1992 or 1993.
Now, I had always approached “bodybuilding” as a means to be in shape and to have great health. At first I had
dismissed steroids, both because I had the impression they were unhealthy, and because getting absolutely huge was
never a main goal of mine. So basically my early years were about studying training methodologies, nutrition, and the
endocrinology behind all that. Fantastic stuff.
In 2003 I got to 200lbs and 13% bodyfat, all naturally save two runs with IGF-1 long R3. Hey I had been studying the stuff
for a long time and it was a delight to pay $300 per mg for me. I even felt the results were worth it. Anyway, I was pretty
happy with my physique at that time, only bloodwork started revealing decreasing testosterone levels around that time.
Well the decision to become an “assisted” bodybuilder was really a no-brainer at that point. I knew enough about most
steroids to understand that the risks were clearly overstated and the benefits, understated. So I did a cutting cycle with
some OTC oral steroids, with satisfactory results.
And then, calamity struck.
In late-May 2006, returning from the gym, I got into a bicycle accident that broke both my forearms and severely injured
my shoulder. The cutting cycle I had just begun aborted and, having casts to almost my fingertips, there was no
preparing food. Pizza it had to be. For 5-6 weeks. Immobile and eating junk, I put on a lot of bodyfat. Even when they took
the casts off, other than my atrophied forearms, the pain from the mending bones prevented me from curling any more
than 25lbs. Not that my shoulder would allow me to hold 25lbs for any length of time in my left hand. It took a long time
before I could get back to training, and another long time until I got most of my strength back, and then another long
time until I could get the fat off. A year passed, and I was finally back at the same place I was the year before.
Still needed to cut.
Well today I sit here at 205lbs, about 6% bodyfat and doing a fake pre-contest. My short-term goal is obviously to get into
full contest condition, with the medium-term goal of doing my first contest next year, at age 41, and TO WIN MY
PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Nothing less than that for the ole Grunt. Last year’s overall winner was 5’8” and 224lbs
(the maximum weight to be in the heavies) so obviously I have to come in at 224lbs exactly and with my extra 1” in
height, hope that the rest of my presentation is up to perfection. After that it’s on to the nationals. Winning the national
my first year of competition seems an excessive goal to set, although it is tempting. We will see. One thing is for sure:
there is no stopping this grunter here.
